Good Morning My Friends!

I'll be honest. As I wake up this morning preparing to open for a district in Minnesota, I'm super fired up. I've been working on something to support educators in whatever type of environment they will be in this fall... and I'm finally releasing it - TODAY!

Many of you may know that prior to leading Future Ready Schools, I spent my last three years in a public school district in Pennsylvania as the Director of Technology and Cyber Education. During that time, I led a team that created our own full-time virtual program in our K-12 public school. The courses were designed and taught by our own staff. But I'll be totally honest...

It was hard.
As in REALLY HARD.

Supporting teachers in making the learning personal and authentic, in remote, blended or in-person spaces was a challenge. But you know what? It was worth it. Our kids were worth it.

For me personally, the last number of months have brought about many flashbacks of leading a K-12 virtual program for my district. From regularly using the phrase "synchronous vs. asynchronous" to wondering what digital tool would be best for a particular lesson, to thinking about equity barriers and students learning from home, the conversation then - and the conversation right now - is exactly the same. So, I've been working on something since May to help...and I can finally share it. So, here it is!

In my experience, if teachers are going to teach asynchronously at high levels, they need to experience high levels of asynchronous professional learning. Over the last four months, I've worked really hard to design a learning experience specifically for that purpose.
